The trailer looks sick!! There's four games I personally would buy a 360 for.
I'd have to see more than just character models to say it competes with the PS3, but it looks better that ME2. The use of light in the game really makes me think it can compete graphically.

If you are looking for a reason to dismiss the article, here it is. They say Natal is only going to cost about $50US. This seems like a very reasonable price!! From what we know of Microsoft, they don't do reasonable pricing.
use that same healthy skepticism you have for this article and apply it toward Natal.
Natal is bleeding cutting edge and Microsoft's attempt to show it can be as innovative and progressive as Sony and Nintendo. They are taking a big risk. There is a possibility of failure. Sony has failed before. Nintendo as well.

How Microsoft is handling Natal itself looks suspect. They have not shown anything of substance as far as gameplay after talking it up on talk shows, especially one that embodies all the vain demagoguery which is the American media!

Sony is trying to target core gamers more. They realized that core gamers are more likely to play casual games than casual gamers are likely to play hard core games. By addressing the core gamer first with MC, they stand a better chance of having a foundation of software and third-party support, but they are not hoping for an overnight success like the Wii.

How much is that exactly? I expect Natal to sell millions, but I expect Halo to sell more units and 360s this holiday. Just 3-5 million may not be a success.
Is he expecting Wii millions? I think Microsoft is thinking Wii numbers, which is possible but at this time far-fetched to say the least.

Everybody knows 360 sales in Japan are much lower than just about everything else. Mentioning that fact shouldn't make you a fanboy, but you probably think the Japanese are Sony fanboys for not buying your precious 360.
and going against Microsoft means it will cost a lot of money. Normal patent cases can cost $10 million alone. Even more if it is taken on contingency - which is can be at times as much as 30%-40% of the recovery.
I bet when you look at what the company takes home. It is probably less than what you expect. Still Microsoft could have settled for under $100 million. They're bad.

If E3 comes and we have strictly casual titles, Natal won't reach that install base soon. I don't think 360 has the branding to attract the casual audience like Nintendo.
It can do it, but Wii has the mind share outside pimply high school and college age boys. Among couples and families, the 360 is most the topic of negative conversation (ie, 'my son/husband spends too much time..."), but Wii is exercise, good for both the kids and grandma too.

1) Wii is going to be #1. No matter what Natal or Move do, Nintendo first party is going to move Wiis. Natal and Move are not just going up against Motion Plus. They're going up against the new Zelda, Metroid - Other M, and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Not only are Nintendo first party titles #1 in quality their brand is synonymous with games for old-schoolers and noobs, for soccer moms and game nerds.
